Developing competencies we urgently need

Taking responsibility for shaping a social and ecologic globalisation is a central challenge for executives in public and private sector institutions worldwide. Qualified personnel and value-oriented leadership are core elements of a result-oriented engagement for all aspects of sustainability.

This requires new competencies: awareness about the challenges of globalization, the ability to successfully implement stakeholder engagement and cross-sector collaboration and the design of consensus building processes in a result-oriented way. Dialogic process competence is a key to success.

Self-reflection also plays an important role. The alignment between personal values and professional demands is an essential element in leadership for sustainability.
